CE Opportunity - Aldo Leopold Week (Virtual Lectures)

iCal

This is Aldo Leopold Week. The Aldo Leopold Foundation is offering three virtual, free lectures this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8:00 pm EST each night. The speakers are best selling nature authors: Margaret Renkl, author of the Comfort of Crows, Amy Tan, author of the Backyard Bird Chromicles and Camille Dungy, author of Soil. Our  members might find these speakers interesting. The links below will allow them to register. The recorded session will also be available.

Leopold Week FAQs
Q: What is Leopold Week?
A: A gathering of people sharing how they connect to the land, in the spirit of Leopold! Once an in-person community meet-up in the tiny town of Lodi, Wisconsin, where folks read A Sand County Almanac out loud, since 2021 we've hosted it as a multi-speaker online event, platforming a range of contemporary conservation thinkers and reaching people all over the world.

Q: When is Leopold Week?
A: Leopold Week 2025 is a three-day event that runs from March 4th through 6th. All events begin at 7pm Central Standard Time.

Q: Where is Leopold Week happening, and how can I attend?
A: Leopold Week is fully virtual, featuring livestreamed events that you can watch online. Register through this link (or the buttons below) and follow the steps to get signed up.

Q: Are these programs free?
A: Yes, Leopold Week is free to attend! But it is not free to produce. Consider making a donation to support our work―any amount helps.

Q: What if I have a time conflict?
A: Each of our events will be recorded and available to rewatch after the livestream! Just use the same link that you used to register.

Q: I've never used Crowdcast before - how does it work?
A: This video tutorial will walk you through signing up and navigating the Crowdcast page, and addresses common tech issues. If you have additional challenges, call us at 608-355-0279 for assistance.

Q: Who is speaking at Leopold Week this year?
A: This year, we are honored to host authors Amy Tan, Margaret Renkl, and Camille Dungy as our Leopold Week speakers. (More info on them below.)

Q: What happened to the fellows' program?
A: While the fellows no longer have a standalone program, they are still very much part of Leopold Week, and you'll see them if you tune into any of the events.

Q: Are there any in-person opportunities connected to Leopold Week?
A: As a matter of fact, there are! If you're in the vicinity of southern Wisconsin on March 1st, then we invite you to check out Madison Reads Leopold, which stays true to that original community gathering from Lodi. (More info below.)

Q: Can I invite my friends?
A: Absolutely! We encourage you to forward this email to friends, family, colleagues, and others who may be interested. You can also find promo posts on our Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn pages if you'd prefer to share via socials. The more, the merrier!
