For all training, mapping and water collecting activities, report your hours under Category Weather and Water Monitoring, Activity Catch the King Tide Mapping and Measure the Muck.

It's almost time to Catch the King Tide!!  General interest and training sessions are coming up soon in different locations throughout Hampton Roads for both new and veteran mappers.  Tide Captains are needed, as well as individuals and teams of Tide mappers.  You will need a smartphone to use the Sea Level Rise app.  You will want to dress for outdoors and wet conditions.  Partners include VIMS, Mainers Museum, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Elizabeth River Project.

The main event is October 17-20.  A "WET run" is scheduled  for September 19-22.

Measure the Muck is a companion project to collect water samples to measure nutrients and bacteria in the floodwaters entering Chesapeake Bay.  These dates are September 21 at ODU in Norfolk,  and October 19 at Ryan Resilience Lab in Norfolk and Gloucester Point.

For information and sign up for Catch the King, see wetlandswatch.org/catchtheking or contact Josie Shostak at josie.shostak@wetlandswatch.org.  To Measure the Muck, contact Alyssa Bucci at abucc002@odu.edu or 805-242-8178.
