Details:

We found that Coastal Virginia needed an invasive plant removal task force to centralize planning, training, education, communications, and event management. Coastal Virginia Removal Team (CIRT) is designed to host events but also track other events to build a comprehensive record of the removals. Tracking of areas needing removal will also be collected to better plan future events as many sites need multiple removals to eradicate invasive plants.

We like to have a rough count for refreshments and planning. Please use the RSVP form if you can volunteer at one or more of the events. However feel free to volunteer at any event with or without a RSVP.

The rain date will be the Sunday of the same weekend. If both days are rained out, we will reschedule later.

Children (under 16) are welcome to events as long as a guardian is present.

Event Instructions

Please wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. You may also want to wear a hat and long sleeves to protect yourself from the sun and possible thorns. We will have refreshments, but we suggest you bring a water bottle. Also, if you have them please bring gloves and tools such as shears/clippers/loppers (writing your name on masking tape and putting on your tool is suggested) – but we will also have tools and gloves available.
