Hermitage Museum - Shoreline Management and Cleanup

iCal

Date: September 3, 2026 at 8:00 am

Location: 7637 North Shore Road Norfolk, VA 23505

Event Description:

The next Hermitage Shoreline Cleanup is on (9/3 8am).  I hope to have a few people cutting phragmites as well.  As usual, first priority is general trash along the shoreline, followed up by washed up treated wood.  Please arrive promptly at 8am so we can go over safety precautions, organize ourselves into groups and then pass out tools and supplies.  Wear sturdy close toed shoes and sturdy work clothes.  Long pants are recommended as it is likely you may have to walk past woodland brush to get to the shoreline.  Bring water to stay hydrated and a healthy snack to stay energized. Insect repellent will be provided.  Bring your own sunscreen. Safety glasses are available but if you already wear glasses or have your own safety glasses you may use those.  If you have work gloves, bring them, but if you forget I have extras.  If we start at 8am, I expect to be finished by 11am
