Details:

Build a natural defense for our waterways, one 35 lb. oyster castle at a time! This will be a 2-day project - join one or both days!

Purpose

Unlike walls, living shorelines use oyster castles and plants to stop erosion, filter water, and increase habitat, boosting local biodiversity! It’s a natural, growing defense for our rivers that volunteers can help to build.

Role

Feeling strong? Help us move and place oyster castles to build a living shoreline! Prepare to wade in shallow water and get hands-on to restore our waterways. Gloves provided, or bring your own (labeled) gear. Every hand helps!
